Weighing in at almost 4,200 tonnes the giant indoor ski slope, leisure and retail complex is another Landmark Project in the history of Billington. The main contractor, Shepherd Construction, by awarding this contract, has shown once again that Billington are a major contributor to the Shepherd supply chain. 

The 40 metres high building encloses a clear span of 35.5 metres across the width of the slope, which runs 240 metres down the length of the building. The massive structure, which consists of Beam and Column Steelwork, Plate Girders, Metal Decking and off site Intumescent fire protection, houses a 14 screen multi-plex cinema and a number of retail outlets and restaurants.

Steelwork deliveries started on the 24th June 2002 and completion of the steel structure covered a 16 week programme. The project completed ahead of programme and received a number of structural accolades. 

Architects on the Project were FaulknerBrown of Newcastle with engineering by Mitchell McFarlane of Sutton.
