Billington Structures Ltd is delighted to offer its congratulations to Wates Constuction on winning a prestigious Constructing Excellence Award for its project on the Headrow in Leeds.

Billington supplied and erected around 1200 tonnes of steel for this £4.2 million project, creating a complex 2 storey extension to the roof of the old Lewis’s/Alders building.

Essentially a 1930s building the structure had to be extensively strengthened before the new steelwork could be added. The overall effect has been to create a stunning atrium servicing new city centre penthouse accommodation.

Wates were generous in thanking their supply chain partners for their help in winning this award.
