Going for Gold
Wombwell-born swimmer, James Kirton, flies out to Beijing to pursue his Olympic dream. 23-year-old James will be competing in the 200m breaststroke event, to fulfil a dream he has held since he was nine.
Much of his early training was funded by his family, but Billingtons stepped in to help out, to support what they recognised to be a prodigious talent. In 2005, James was first selected for the GB swimming squad, competing at British, European and World Championships.
The heats of the Men’s 200m Breaststroke event take place on 12th August, with semifinals on the 13th and the final on the 14th.
Billington Structures would like to wish James the very best of luck in his endeavours.
