This festive season saw the inaugural Departmental Christmas Tree Competition launched here at Wombwell. Staff have been polishing their baubles and tweaking their tinsel to compete for the prestigious event which was judged on Monday 21st December by our very own Mark ‘bah-humbug’ Smith. We can now announce that the winning team were…the Drawing Office – who were complimented on their execution with pictures of every department member added to the baubles.
Runners up were the Works and the QS department coming second and third, respectively.
The commiserations were not felt for long as the annual Christmas raffle saw many staff members take home some festive goodies, kindly donated by our suppliers, contacts and staff.
Also, on Thursday 17th staff dusted off the moth-balls and made donations to don their festive jumpers – with all monies adding to the pot.
All money raised will be split between the very worthy Barnsley Hospice and St Peter’s Hospice in Bristol who both provide specialist care and support for hundreds of local people with life limiting illnesses and their families.
