Long before the Egan and Latham papers outlined the move towards Partnering, Billington were already developing their supply chains.
The concept started with our main steel supplier, Corus, who now supply 100% of our black steel. Over the years we have worked hard to develop this relationship which has been a driving force in the development of our just-in-time manufacturing and electronic trading systems.
Any Business can only be as good as its suppliers.
As part of our ISO 9001 Quality system, we carry out regular appraisals on all our suppliers and sub-contractors. In all the key areas, partnering arrangements are encouraged and we hold regular 'user group' meetings to progress the relationship and explore ways of gaining mutual benefit.
